Yoni steaming, also known as vaginal steaming, is an ancient practice that has gained popularity in recent years as a method for preparing the body for labor and delivery. This holistic approach involves sitting over a gentle, and very mild steaming pot of water infused with gentle edible herbs to help increase circulation, moisturize and soften the cervix, thus preparing the body for labor. Typically, vaginal steaming during pregnancy is contraindicated and not advised because it can encourage the cervix to open- not something we want unless we are past 39 weeks pregnant!
